Direct Primary Care, or DPC, is an innovative and alternative path to insurance managed healthcare. Utilizing a membership-based model, it prioritizes giving patients direct access to their doctor. Patients pay a low monthly fee directly to the practice, instead of paying per visit, or with copays through their insurance. 

At Florida Direct Primary Care, our prices are transparent and straightforward, with all of your visits included with no copays or deductibles. By eliminating insurance billing and reducing administrative burdens, our practice is able to spend more time focusing on treating our patients. Our patient panel will be capped at a fraction of the typical insurance based practice, allowing us to get to know our patients better. We are also able to offer expanded, direct access and longer appointments to address all concerns. By not contracting with insurance companies, we are also able to offer highly discounted and negotiated prices for labs and imaging.

Our goal is to limit or eliminate your need for non emergent acute visits at clinics such as urgent care, by efficiently being responsive to your clinical concerns. In addition, we can also be available via phone, text, email or virtual visits for health care needs that arise after business hours or when you are away from home.

Yes. You will need to sign a waiver declaring that neither you nor your doctor will directly bill Medicare for our services. If you have traditional Medicare, you can use it to cover your medications, imaging tests, and labs ordered by our practice but delivered by outside providers, as well as specialty services/referrals and hospitalization, and they will be reimbursed in accordance with Medicare regular coverage rules.

HMO insurance plans and HMO Medicare Advantage plans often do not work well with Direct Primary Care. These plans usually require that you select a primary care physician who participates within the insurance network. That physician must follow the insurance company’s referral rules and bill the plan for services at contracted rates.

Because we operate outside of insurance networks, HMO plans typically cannot list us as your designated primary care physician or process referrals from our office.

Insurance plans with PPO networks, high deductibles, traditional Medicare, health sharing plans, or those without health insurance generally pair much better with the Direct Primary Care model.

We have negotiated highly discounted cash pay rates through local imaging facilities for radiology studies. This means that if you need an MRI for example, we can tell you the cash price that will be heavily discounted if paid through our practice. 

Lab work is also heavily discounted for cash pay patients through our practice. We are able to offer price transparency with no hidden charges. You will never be charged a copay for any services through our practice.
